Happy October! It’s starting to get busy around town in a way that can only happen when Halloween starts creeping into the Halloween Capital of the World. The kids are out painting the windows this week (yes, the STORE windows), the pumpkins are out in full force, and the decorations are being hung from the chimney with care. (Er…or, something like that.) With all of the family events, parades, contests and events going on this month (website with schedule of events, here: http://anokahalloween.com)–Anoka goes from being a laid back Main Street, full of little shops–to being a bustling epicenter for ghosts, goblins, and witches. We are happy that we’re stocked full again, and ready to go. Abdallah, our favorite MN chocolate maker, had been moving to a new facility–so, if you had been in recently, and noticed that our shelves were lacking a few things, that was why. We are overflowing with our old favorites though, again, as well as some new ones too! Take a quick peek at some of the latest finds we have for you. More is being added all the time… :)
Mint Melties. Okay, these were my FAVORITE treat to pick up from Fanny Farmer when I would hit the mall in the 80’s. Now, I can just buy a bag, and bring them home to munch on while watching Netflix. In bed. With my dog. We have big mints, and these little ones…along with a whole slew of other bags of treats. Jordan Almonds, Cherry Balls, Licorice Drops, Yogurt Pretzels, etc.
Whirly Pops! We have big, medium, and baby unicorn sized ones in. These are probably one of the most photogenic candies and they make any kid happy. (Attach a gift card to one, pop a bow on it, and you have the perfect gift for any niece/nephew/friend’s kid, etc.)
Zero Bars. So…do you think this candy bar is tired of having people ask it if it has zero calories? (We’ve made that joke a few times now…sorry.)
Jelly Belly Beer and Pop Jelly Beans. Okay. So. The beer beans are, surprisingly, delicious. And, while we haven’t tried any of the soda beans (other than the Dr. Pepper ones), we are under the full belief that they are, of course, delicious too.
Yoohoo Candy Bar. Well, we’re going to review this next week so you’ll get to know how we really feel about it…but for now, let’s just say it’s a giant candy bar for 1.50.
Abdallah Chocolate. New boxes of mixed chocolates, new mints, new truffles, new everything! This makes us happy.
