We don’t know if you heard about the classic candy, Bit-O-Honey, but, they’re now being made here! In Saint Paul, Minnesota. In May of 2013, the Pearson company bought the nostalgic, little, chews from Nestle. Yesterday was the first day of production in Saint Paul! We feel like it’s a great fit for Pearson’s, we love that it created jobs here and we are excited that Pearson’s is still, after over 100 years, growing strong!
Pearson’s Candy Company was initially founded as a distribution firm in 1909, but, in 1912, decided to start making their own candy. Originally, they were a family-owned company though they have changed ownership and been sold several times throughout their long history (yet always stayed local). Pearson’s produces several nationally distributed candies, Mint Patties, Salted Nut Rolls and, now, Bit-O-Honey. Bun Bars and Nut Goodie’s are distributed in the midwest, only. (Hint, hint: Fun gift ideas for out-of-state family and friends!)
We love being a supporter of locally made candy and chocolates! We carry many Pearson products–so, stop on in if you’ve got a craving for a Bun Bar or Nut Goody! (Or, Bit-O-Honey, we have those too!)
