Head’s up…there’s a little holiday comin’ your way. Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and we’ve got some fun, home made, candy treat ideas for you on the blog today. (Also, we don’t mean little like it doesn’t matter. Calm your taters down. We just mean it’s no Easter, or anything.) We try to find things that are easy enough–as, we’re not great cooks, or anything–and, we try to find ideas that are a little different. (Though, if all else fails–green M&M’s, in cookies, work perfectly.) We do a pretty good job of keeping our Pinterest page full of everyday, and seasonal, candy crafts and ideas–so, follow along if you’re on Pinterest and like candy. (Well, with a description like that…we should have, roughly, a million followers, right!?)

Anyway…here are a few great, candy-themed, recipes that we love for Saint Partrick’s Day. (Most of them are easy enough to let little hands help with too. :) )

St. Patrick’s Day Candy Bark

We love bark. White chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, all of the above–it doesn’t matter; we love it. You can add anything, and it always looks professional. This one even has the salty/sweet thing going on–so, we’re pretty much in love.

Leprechaun Bark

Another bark? Okay! This one is missing the whole salty factor–but, it’s still so good. :)

Shamrock Pretzel Bites

We think the pretzel bite thing is great for any occasion–but, these are really adorable. It’s always the simple things, like these, that we wish WE would have thought of.

Shamrock Pretzel Pops

Well, we can’t get to the actual website with this one–but, looking at the photo on Pinterest is pretty much enough for us. Rolo’s, M&M’s, pretzels and lollipop sticks. We’re betting that even without the sticks these would be perfect. Either way, they look easy enough and delicious.

Easy Pretzel Bites

One more salty/sweet, pretzel thingy until we’re done with it. Promise. :)

Saint Patrick’s Day Pretzel Rods

Well. We lied. ONE more pretzel recipe. There’s something about decorated pretzel rods that look so professional and festive–and, kids LOVE them. You can stick with the sprinkles–or, you can add on M&M’s, drizzle them with white chocolate, or add on any other little candies. You really can’t mess them up.

Homemade Shamrock Gum Drops

We kept the promise this time. :) These are, definitely, not pretzels.

Saint Patrick’s Day Centerpiece

Cute, functional, and yummy–the hardest past is sorting the M&M’s. (Which isn’t hard at all…just time consuming. You could always find a little helper and use this as a teachable moment…colors, counting, sorting–it’s win/win.)

Saint Patrick’s Day Rainbows

These seem like they might be way too putzy…but, they’re cute, and a really popular project–so, we’re including them. (Plus…they incorporate a couple of our favorite candies!)

St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold

Part candy, part craft…it’s the perfect combo!

Boozy Irish Potato Candy

Well…these aren’t really like the recipes we normally post–but, we found the recipe, realized they’re a really popular item in other places in the U.S. and we thought they sounded really great. (You can skip the booze, if you want, too.)
